Now we have all seen photos of spoiled nose-jobs. The media likes to run out pictures of surgery gone wrong and for whatever reason many people like to see them. It’s akin to not having the ability to take your eyes off a car accident or a fire. Sure, these things occur in life, but rhinoplasty ends up in general are good. Only about 20 p.c of people that have a conk job require a 2nd surgery. That’s electrifying considering the big number of nose jobs performed in a year.

This can happen for a couple of reasons. Occasionally the patient just does not like their new nose. This is going to be because they were impractical in their expectancies or confusing when telling the surgeon what they wanted. It’s really important also to listen to the surgeon when having your consultation in order that you can take his suggestions into consideration. Often even a refined change can produce a dramatic difference in your appearance. Most people do not fall into this category, but those patients with a deformed body image may never be satisfied and thru pursuit of “perfection” is lifelong. It is up to the surgeon to ascertain if this is the case, and if so they’re free to decline to perform the operation. Other times the issue is structural and a second surgery can correct it. It is extraordinarily important to wait at least 9 months before having another surgery. It gives the incisions time to heal and the scar issue time to melt making the revision surgery far easier.

Once the bruising and swelling go down, you could have a great idea of your final results in around 2 to 3 weeks. Most folk can return to their standard activities by this time and wearing make up will hide any remaining bruises.Careful attention to the post op instructions given to you at discharge about care and activity limitations will ensure that you don’t injure your nose. The tissues are delicate and during the process of healing extra care must be taken. Doing research before surgery, choosing the best surgeon for you and having pragmatic expectations can ensure your results are everything you would like them to be. You may have to interview one or two surgeons before selecting one to find the best fit. Speak to people who’ve had rhinoplasty and take a look at the before and after photos. Most importantly, decide what you actually want and your rhinoplasty experience and results are more than likely to be positive.
